# Getting Started
> Download Oakminder, start your free trial, and create your first reminder in minutes.
Getting set up takes about two minutes. And then the next time a notification fires while you're busy, you'll wonder why every app doesn't let you snooze from the Lock Screen.
## Download and install
Oakminder is available on iOS.
Oakminder requires **iOS 16 or later**. Make sure your device is updated before installing.
## Create your account
When you first open Oakminder, a guided setup walks you through personalizing your experience, setting up notifications, and discovering what the app can do. It takes a couple of minutes and makes everything feel like yours from the start.
You can sign up with your email, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In. Your account is what keeps your reminders synced across all your devices. Log in on a second phone or tablet and everything is already there.
## Create your first reminder

On the home screen, tap the floating action button at the bottom. That's where every new reminder starts.

Give your reminder a name, pick a date and time. Add a description if you want, or assign a category to keep things organized.

Tap Save. Your reminder is scheduled and a notification will fire at the exact time you picked.

When the notification appears, long-press or expand it to see your snooze options: 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, or 2h. Need a different duration? Open the app and use the custom snooze picker to set the exact minutes you want. 22 minutes, 47 minutes, whatever fits your schedule.
This is the thing i couldn't find in any other app. Snooze buttons right on the notification, without opening anything. Whether you're a student rushing between lectures or a parent with both hands full, that one change saves more time than you'd expect.
Make sure to **allow notifications** when prompted. Oakminder relies on push notifications to deliver your reminders on time.
